Angela is a freelance journalist, consultant and editor with over 10 years of experience in digital and print publishing, public relations, marketing, research and analysis. She began working in the medical cannabis industry in 2008 as the editorial assistant to Ed Rosenthal, where she managed and edited projects like the best-selling Marijuana Grower’s Handbook (2010).
Bacca is the former editor-in- chief of Cannabis Now Magazine and the co-founder and former managing editor at Ladybud Magazine. As an editor and consultant she helped lead these publications to market-dominating traffic levels and fast-growing social media presences (at Cannabis Now she helped grow the Facebook page from 500,000 to 3 million in one year).
As a publicist, Bacca directed media and public relations campaigns for the Drug Policy Project of Utah, an organization she co-founded that led the media promotion for S.B. 259, Utah’s first proposed medical cannabis legislation. She also has coordinated successful media campaigns for Green Aid: the Medical Marijuana Legal Defense & Education Fund, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that works to promote cannabis policy change in courts.
